THE AGORA CORSI COPPINI MUSEUM – MUSEUM OF THE ART OF OIL MAKING

We care for our community and our land. Thus, in 2009 we created the Agorà Orsi Coppini Museum - Ark of Culture, a Museum of the Art of Oil Making set up in a 19th century former dairy for Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, recovered with a preservation restoration effort.

The Agorà Orsi Coppini Museum is at last bringing the olive tree back to the Parma area, an area that has always been at the heart of the agri-food sector. This all-encompassing ideal links cultivation with knowledge, love of nature with the love for knowledge and humankind. A Museum that shows our passion for the olive tree, a holy tree in every civilization, a symbol of pace and dialogue, source of sustenance and flavours, care for the spirit and body, and source of light.

“To know is to love", this is the idea carried forward by the Coppini Family: spreading knowledge of a product and a world which is art, indeed the Art of Making Olive Oil, whose aura illuminates history from the most ancient mythology to today. Civilisations of the Mediterranean prospered also thanks to olive oil. And our role is to diffuse this culture. Italy is a nation founded on olive oil: the symbol of the Italian Republic is, in fact, an olive branch. Also, different religions have expressed their beliefs using olive oil and the olive tree.

The Fieniletto Farm, an old Parmigiano Reggiano cheese-making factory, and the Food Valley become the backdrop for a new art form that has now returned from the 12th century distant past. An emotional journey where extra virgin olive oil turns into logos, words, a culture that can be savoured and translates the knowledge handed down over generations into a direct experience.

AGORÀ AMONG THE OLIVE TREES

The agora can accommodate up to 500 people seated on three tiered levels, and offers an open-air theatre set in a natural park unique in the area. It is equipped with the latest technology and services, and can be used to stage high-level meetings, conferences, concerts, shows and events. The Agorà Orsi Coppini Museum is a place where we can share with those who appreciate olive oil, our love of beauty, art and culture. An open meeting place for connoisseurs of T.O.P. extra virgin olive oil. T.O.P. (Traceable Origin Product).

This is a place to share and bring to life ideas in the fight against food mediocrity and adulteration, and a platform from which to launch new offers and events to nurture the mind as well as the spirit. This is what we aim for in this special and truly unique location.

Here is where the award ceremony for the winners of the "L'Albero d'Argento per Qualità nelle Arti" (The Silver Tree for Quality in the Arts) takes place, organized by the Coppini Family as part of the project "Feeding the Planet" with art and culture.

CONFERENCE ROOM

The Museum houses a conference room with about 100 seats, furnished with upholstered armchairs manufactured from sustainable and 100% recyclable materials.  The acoustics have been designed by professionals to ensure the best sound quality for those taking part in conference, screenings or courses, and moderators may choose to speak with or without sound amplification.

Equipped with the best audio-visual equipment for recording, transmission, on-line interactive services and video conferencing, managed with the direct support of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. This is an excellent, state-of-the art venue for conferences and seminars as well as cooking courses, in an original setting, natural and at the same time provided with every comfort and a high-level of service and technology.

On request, the conference hall can be fitted out with a multi-point video-conferencing system (Adobe Breeze) allowing events to be broadcast live on the web. Adobe Flash is required for those receiving the video-conferencing feed. Adobe Flash is easily accessible by the main operating systems and browsers and does not require the installation of external applications by the interactive participant or those who simply wish to view the event.

As well as broadcasting events live, they can be recorded and published on the web side or video portal to be viewed later on-demand and with search links.
